Starting this year, 12 October will have a different flavour, and it will not be remembered only as the day Christopher Columbus discovered America.

Choco Day will celebrate one of the most important fruits that the Equatorial countries produce and export around the world ? Cocoa ? and the delectable sweet that is made from it: Chocolate.

The idea came from Eurochocolate, which has proposed an authentic Manifesto to be signed and supported.

Cocoa producers, exporters and importers, chocolate producers, bakeries and chocolate shops, trade associations, schools, non-governmental organisations and all chocolate lovers can share the objectives and goals by signing the Manifesto and asking to use the official Chocoday logo.

Moreover, among the Manifesto's subscribers, who will want really to contribute to good chocolate promotion, they can organize specific initiatives connected with their own business, neighbourhood and city, for the purpose of conveying and discussing the principles that characterise the passion for and consumption of this important food.

Eurochocolate will make promotional material available (posters, postcards, etc.) and will start an important communications campaign on a national and international level. The official Eurochocolate site (www.eurochocolate.com) will host a special section listing the signers of the Manifesto and the initiatives that will be organised around the world.
