Chocolate belongs to everyone; it is a scrumptious food that sweetens day-to-day living and is even able to have a positive influence on our emotional state.

Chocolate is a precious good, and for this reason it is necessary to promote and protect the consumption of what legend calls the “Food of the Gods”, i.e. pure chocolate, a label that characterises the product that is obtained exclusively with the use of cocoa butter and cocoa mass, without added vegetable fats and oils that debase its properties.

Good chocolate, in addition to the ingredients that characterize its purity, also depends on the quality and the production process, starting with the cocoa, i.e. the fruit from which chocolate is obtained.

For this reason, the label must state everything, guaranteeing full control of the food traceability starting from the raw material, which must take into account the safeguard of biodiversity.

It is also necessary to guarantee for the end consumer the transparency of the technologies and transformation methods used, which must exclude recourse to GMOs and the exploitation of child labour, while guaranteeing the proper remuneration of the cocoa producer.

Good chocolate must thus be respectful of ethics and human dignity.

The sustainable development of the countries that produce the raw material, and the solidary growth of all the components of the production chain, right through to the end consumer, who is the last link of a responsible process, are at the basis of the correct development of the economy of a product that can and must be representative of a modern and democratic globalisation.
